How works the system of colectivos (urban buses) in Mendoza?


To consider:
  • The system is divided in “Groups” whose identification is whole numbers, that have different routes as well.

    - This is, for example: Group 2 contains to routes 21, 22, 23.24, etc.

    - IMPORTANT: ALL THE GROUPS do not observe the previous rule. We recommended to consult the routes ONLINE, through our finder in spanish: click here.

  • Difference between “nocturnal ticket” and “diurnal” does not become, therefore when traveling an ONLY tariff is paid.

At the present in Mendoza, the colectivos and trolleys count on system of electronic computer that receives the trip. The system allows the use of currencies and of magnetic cards without contact that are bought in the markets and they are recharged in the sale positions.

* How is called the card that I must buy if I wan to travel and not to use cash?

The card is called "Red Bus".

The machines accept all the legal currencies in course, this is: of 10 cents, of 25 cents, 50 cents and 1 peso.

The normal passage in urban zones has an effective tariff of $ 1.10.

Usually, in the cars that have several tariffs on the basis of the distance which they cross, the driver must manually qualify from their console the machine when the passenger raises, therefore, if you. it does not know that it must warn to him the driver or does not know that the tariff that is going to pay is difference, does not worry; the driver will ask to him before qualifying the machine to him so that he makes the payment of his ticket.

No, it does not give returned.

When the machine detects that it was arrived at the value corresponding to the trip, it will indicate to him in its viewfinder: "SALDO A ACREDITAR. PRESENTE TARJETA" (“BALANCE TO CREDIT. PRESENT CARD”). With this, it will offer the possibility to him that it loaded what exceeded in its card “Red Bus”. If you does not count on a card “Red Bus”, will lose this amount.


* And in the system of average distance (trips to distant departments of Mendoza and Mountain), also pays with card or currencies ?.

No, only in the urban scope it is paid with card or currencies, in the other cases, passage in company stands from the omnibus terminal in where the colectivo is approached or is paid to the driver.
